I began uploading product reviews for ExpoTV last month. This is your chance to help recreate an interactive TechTV experience! ExpoTV is the content provider for on-demand channels on cable boxes across the US. Uploading your content is simple, and fast. The process takes only about five minutes for each video.

ExpoTV is a place for people to connect, share and celebrate the products they are passionate about in video to help each other shop smarter!

You can earn up to $10 for product reviews that meet the community’s quality standards. Share your personal opinion and demonstrate how you use the product! Real, honest consumer opinions are what ExpoTV is all about.

This month, I uploaded reviews for five products that I have taken a look at in recent weeks. The original videos are all posted here in my blog for each of them.

1.3 Megapixel USB Digital Microscope Review

This 1.3 Megapixel Digital Microscope allows you to capture some higher resolution images and video and display them on your PC using a simple USB connection. View specimens collected around the house, backyard, your desk, or the fridge. Look at the micro-printing on a dollar bill or examine the traces on your motherboard. This microscope provides you an easy way to zoom in on a wide variety of objects to satisfy your curiosity of the world around you. Ever wondered what lint looks like or the mold growing on your week-old bagels? Now you can find out.

Simple plug and play operation with included software that allows you to magnify objects and view them on your PC up to 200X and take snapshots and time-lapse movies. You can also manipulate images with drawing and painting tools. The microscope is detachable from the stand to allow you to get closer to large objects.

USB Humping Dog

It doesn’t serve any purpose, but it’s what they do. They are insatiable. And that’s all we really have to say. Harley is brown and Duke is black, and you can take your pick. Oh, and don’t worry - if the kids ask what the doggie is doing to your computer, just say, “He’s trying to jump over the computer, but he got a little stuck,” or “The computer is giving him a piggyback ride.” Either will suffice.

Tengu!

Here we have a cute little white plastic brick with a face made of LEDs. The tiny microphone in the base picks up sounds in the room, whether it’s music, or your loudmouth boss, and makes his mouth move in time. It’s like he’s lip synching to the song! Kinda like Britney, only much much smaller, and probably smells better.

He’s USB powered, so plug him in to any powered USB port, set him near your favorite sound-source, and your little buddy will perform for you all day long!

Multi-Color LED Lightbulb with Remote

The Multi-Color LED Lightbulb is a super bright LED bulb that can transition through dozens of color and brightness combinations and is compatible with a standard lightbulb socket. The included IR remote can select an individual color or brightness level or choose one of four different transition effects. Great for mood lighting, decorating, parties or special lighting environments. It has multiple brightness level settings and four transition effects (long pause on each color, short pause, slow fade between colors, faster fade). The light is generated from a 5 Watt LED.

New Panasonic compacts include TZ5 superzoom with HD

New Panasonic compacts include TZ5 superzoom with HD
Today Panasonic unveiled a raft of new compacts including the successor to the Lumix TZ3, one of our favourite compacts of last year. The new TZ5 features the same excellent 28-280mm stabilised zoom lens in a compact case, but upgrades both the sensor and 3in screen resolutions to 9.1 Megapixels and 460k pixels respectively. The big new feature is HD movie recording at 720p / 30fps, and HDTV connectivity with an optional component cable; this also featured on the new Lumix FX55 slim compact. The TZ5 rounds this off with an improved Intelligent Auto mode. For full details of all the new models, check our Panasonic compact camera page.

I’ve been using FriendFeed to connect with my friends, and make new ones. I also love using it to discover new links that I may not have seen otherwise. There are a ton of different perspectives on just about anything you can think of. One of the recent threads there was a link to a very cool online alarm clock. Kuku Klok is the online alarm clock that is designed to wake you up.

Set the time you want to be woken up. Choose from one of four sounds, and turn up your speakers. The best part is, once it is set, the alarm clock will still go off on time, even if your Internet connection goes down. Once you’ve made your selections, just click the “set alarm” button. This is a good way to make sure you get up on time. It can be used in addition to, or in place of, a traditional alarm clock. It’s very useful and handy, for sure.

If anyone else has a good, simple website that does one thing… and does it very well… I want to hear about it!

Sony Alpha DSLR-A200 full review and video tour

Sony Alpha DSLR-A200 full review and video tour
The Alpha A200 is Sony's new entry-level DSLR and the successor to its debut model, the best-selling Alpha A100. It features the same 10.2 Megapixel CCD sensor as its predecessor, but squeezes it into a smaller and lighter body; there's still room though for the built-in stabilisation to counteract camera shake. Sony's also increased the sensitivity to 3200 ISO, accelerated the AF by 1.7 times, enlarged the screen to 2.7in and employed an InfoLithium battery for accurate feedback. Today though the entry-level DSLR market has never been tougher, so to see how the latest Alpha compares against its predecessor and the current crop of rivals, check out our Sony A200 review, and for a demo of its features, see our Sony A200 video tour.

Sennheiser PC 350

I had a very difficult time sitting down to write this review because every waking moment in front of the PC became a “testing session” as soon as I laid eyes on the PC 350s at my desk. If you are the competition - these are THE headphones to beat. While they aren’t designed around multiple uses, with some minor design tweaks we could see these cans ushering in a new lineup of Sennheiser headphones. Read on to find out why we are so excited about a set of headphones for the first time in a long while.

Vodafone new $1 for 10 MB casual mobile data rate: save with optimisation

Vodafone new $1 for 10 MB casual mobile data rate: save with optimisation
Vodafone New Zealand has started today to charge casual mobile data usage in a different way. If you don't have a data plan but use your mobile to browse the Internet then you will pay no more than $1 per day for up to 10 MB (ten megabytes) of traffic.

Traffic over this will be charged on a $1 per MB rate. Check all Vodafone mobile broadband plans here.

Vodafone makes a few different APNs available for mobile data connection. The "optimised experience" (i.e. compressed) APN is only automatically activated if you are in GPRS coverage.

If you want to always use the "optimised experience" then you might want to configure your device to use the "opt.vodafone.net.nz" APN.

More bang for your buck.
